Scholarship

Woodstream Christian Academy is a unique community of teachers, parents, administrators, and students. Our community works together to raise up Christian scholars who will impact the world for Christ. We take an intentional and holistic approach to education, i.e., developing students spiritually, physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially so that they might be straight, strong and sharp arrows used by Christ for a lifetime.

Woodstream Christian Academy (WCA) provides a rigorous academic program that encourages students to strive for excellence. WCA integrates time-tested classical education teaching methods based on the Trivium. The Trivium consists of three stages, Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric. Each stage is distinct to encourage creative, critical thinking, as well as verbal and written skills. The faculty is committed to providing students with opportunities for independent growth, reasoning skills and developing godly perceptive in a progressive world. The curriculum is infused with the classical methodology across all subject areas including history, mathematics, science, art and music. Essential are the requirements for reading the great works of literature and understanding ancient philosophy.

Fine Arts Program

Woodstream offers numerous opportunities for students through our excellent fine arts program – Chancellor’s Ensemble, vocal music, praise and worship band, art, dance, visual arts, musical theater, digital photography, drama, and video production. The Fine Arts Department presents two major drama and musical programs each year. In addition, students participate in regional and national fine arts competitions.

Beyond the Classroom

Scholars may enroll in college and honors courses, participate in athletics and sports (soccer, basketball, volleyball, track and field, cheerleading, swimming, golf clinics, karate), and driver’s education. We also assist School of Rhetoric students in placement in baseball and football leagues.

LAMP (Learn At My Pace)

Woodstream Christian Academy encourages families with students with special needs to apply, which includes students on both ends of the learning spectrum: those who are extraordinarily gifted and those who have learning disabilities.

Gifted Students

Specific services offered vary according to grade level and employ a variety of tools including pull-out classes, differentiated work, cluster classes, leveled classes, apprenticeships, and servant leader opportunities. Students are identified for the LAMP Gifted Program based on standardized test scores (above the 95th percentile), teacher recommendation, and parent recommendation. Gifted Rhetoric and Logic students may be placed in a variety of honors, AP and college courses.

Students with Learning Challenges

Learning accommodations can be provided to students in the classroom to support those with documented learning needs. Our goal is to treat each student as a precious, unique individual who deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. We provide academic accommodations to give students who learn differently a fair chance to learn and achieve academically.
